It All Started With George Floyd
THE COURAGEOUS CREATIVES LEADERSHIP COLLECTIVE was an initiative created in response to the growing global unrest that came to a head, following the murder of George Floyd. His death was preceded by the murders of Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor. These names have been added to a growing list of fallen individuals, whose lives have been taken at the detriment of being Black in America.

Our inaugural 6 week project resulted in a digital installation called TAKE BACK TIME, a short film that is designed as a tryptic that acknowledges an infectious past, celebrates an insightful present and calls us to action to create an illuminated future.

The Courageous Creatives Leadership Collective provides professional development to young adults who aspire to emerge as leaders in their life purpose & work.
The CCLC Cohort utilizes creative skill, innovation and thought leadership to advance their collective agenda towards:
artistic advocacy and activism
community service and leadership

In the Summer of 2020, the first Courageous Creatives Cohort of 23 young people, ages 16-22 was formed. The foundation of the project’s design was to listen, learn, unlearn and devise a creative strategy to engage the facility of creative skill and talent. Empowering these voices served multiple purposes and in turn had a major reciprocal effect.
